    Montreal impact was finally able to win over their Canadian rivals, Toronto FC Tuesday night in the MLS Eastern Conference final after the match was delayed for about 30 minutes. This was due to a discovery that the penalty areas fell two yards short of the normal regulation size. Thus, the lines had to be repainted before the match could be continued.     GERRARD TO END MLS CAREER

    Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard could end his MLS career if LA Galaxy loose out in the play-offs this weekend. The player’s glittering career may have finally winded down as he has failed to really pick-up in the MLS since his switch. The Premier League legend left 18 months ago after his farewell game in the 6-1 embarrassment against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium in May 2015. MLS fans have waited for the player to prove his worth but it seems it will never happen until he exits the league.

    MLS football player Bradley Wright-Phillips provided two important goals that ensured New York Red Bulls moved past Montreal Impact 3-1 on Saturday night. The victory ensured Red Bulls are two points behind neighbours New York City at the top of the Eastern conference of the Major League Soccer. Montreal started the goal scoring in the 21st minute when Luciano Piatti got his 13th of the season.     Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire recorded a stunning victory over San Jose Earthquakes when both sides met on Friday night.
